ASUS Eee PC-X101 Meegan found a official product page before the publication of netbooks Intel Atom 1.5GHz Oak Road later this month. The 10.1-inch netbook has a resolution of 1024 x 600, 1GB of RAM standard (2 GB maximum) and an 8 GB SSD, specifications humble, but probably enough to Meego OS load.

Although initially suggest that the ASUS would offer the X101 with dual-boot the machine can be downloaded or Meego Windows 7, the company then decided to share between the two platforms of two distinct models. He left the X101 to be an economical alternative, with a sub-$ 100 RRP, when X101H Windows 7 is a hundred dollars or so extra.

Connectivity includes WiFi b / g / n and Bluetooth 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, audio in / out, an SD / SDHC memory card reader and a charging plug standard 3-cell battery. ASUS estimates that are good for up to 4 hours of execution, which is on the low side for a modern netbook. There is also a 0.3 megapixel webcam and stereo speakers, and X101 will be available in white, red or brown.

Interestingly, ASUS Preload a copy of British Council English Language learning application, with interactive games, videos and audio files to help non-English speakers to catch up. If the target audience for the X101 will really appreciate this - or perhaps more likely, will be the first to be removed from this simple 8-GB flash memory - remains to be seen.
